Teenagers between the age of 13 and 20 are in the phase of formation of self-identity. When they have too many wounds in mimind caused by continuous
or accumulated stress, they cannot form healthy self-identity and develop depression. Suppose a teenage girl was scolded for dozing off during class. She may
think the teacher is not right in scolding her harshly and unfairly and get angry. She may think that she couldn't help dozing off since she was on cold medicine.
Then, she may try to explain and get compensated for the teacher's unfair treatment. However, the teacher wouldn't even listen to her and send her to the
principal's office for some official punishment. Then, the girls feels even worse and continue to accumulate wounds.
Teenagers do not generate wounds when they understand the situation from their own point of view, but they accumulate wounds every time things
unfold differently from their own understanding. if the teacher talks to her by reasoning and make her understand, she does not develop wounds in mimind.
It is important for teenagers to understand how their behaviors can affect themselves and others negatively or positively in order to stay stable psychologically.
The teacher must engage the girl in a conversation to help her understand.
The girl have even more when she is rejected by her mother when she comes home and tries to talk to her about what happened at school. The mother may
just take side with the teacher without even listening to her daughter. Then, she may give up and decide to get attention and consolation from outside home
and school.
