The Overview of Youth Mind Training

Korea Institute of Psycho-education has been providing Youth Mind Training for more than 10 years. Payment is required for Mind

 Training and psychology treatment for adults, but Youth Mind Training and child’s psychology treatment have always been offered free

 of charge. 


Youth Mind Training is designed based on the Theory of Mimind and intended to help teenagers and young adults learn about the

 operational mechanisms of human mind and psychology and form unconscious habits to prevent and heal stress and wounds. Teenagers and young adults are led to form adequate thought standards and live with happy mind through Youth Mind Training.  


Parents, teachers, and many leaders of teenagers do their best to guide teenagers to develop healthy body and psychology, but it turns

 out that conventional theories and practices are not always successful in preventing and treating teenagers’ psychological problems.


Mother Therapy is offered to train mothers to learn about the operational mechanisms of human mind and psychology and adopt

 adequate parenting strategies to stabilize children’s psychology. On top of the adoption of Mother Therapy, directly training teenagers

 and young adults to prevent and treat their own psychological problems results in more effective psychological stabilization and the

 prevention of future problems.


Youth Mind Training informs teenagers of the operational mechanism of human mind and psychology. It is different from conventional

 knowledge education or psycho-education in the sense that it is designed to build habits in the unconsciousness. Activating

 consciousness as in knowledge education causes stress and wounds aggravating psychological problems and it does not result in

 forming habits in the unconsciousness. Training one’s mind must employ the activation of the unconsciousness rather than the

 consciousness to obtain the desired results.  


In the Theory of Mimind, the development of human psychology goes through different phases depending on age. Children aged

 between 10 and 13 begin to finish the phase of adaptation to the relationships and enter the phase of formation of self-identity. They

 begin to form their own thought standards through diverse experiences and trial and error. Then, teenagers begin to enter the phase

 of self-actualization around age 18 to 20 pursuing not only self-happiness but also happiness in relationships. Of course, adults also

 adjust their thought standards to a certain degree accumulating knowledge and experiences to suit different circumstances, but

 teenage years are considered the most important period for forming one’s own thought standards. 


Two types of Youth Mind Training are offered, one for teenagers aged 10 through 19 and the other for young adults aged 19 through

 29. Children under age 10 are considered to be too young to understand the contents of Mind Training and train themselves to heal

 and prevent stress and wounds.


The Theory of Mimind differentiates human mind and human psychology. It postulates that once the operational mechanisms of

 human mind and psychology are accurately understood and the understanding is formed as habits in one’s unconsciousness, one can

 treat and prevent psychological problems and protect their mind and psychology. It is hoped that many teenagers and young adults

 will take Youth Mind Training and build the ability of happiness to be employed throughout their lifetime.
